The WNBA has finally admitted that they could not find any hateful comments allegedly directed at Angel Reese. Two weeks ago, the WNBA launched an investigation after someone allegedly heard hate comments directed at Reese during the Sky’s loss to the Fever.
“The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms,” the statement read. “They have no place in our league or in society. We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter.”
Reese even commented on the alleged comments to the media.
“Obviously, there’s no place in this league for that,” said Reese. “I think the WNBA, our team and our organization has done a great job supporting me. I’ve had communication with everyone, from so many people across the league being able to support me. Going through this process, obviously if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. I think they’ve done a great job supporting us in this.”
On Tuesday, the WNBA ended their investigation when they could not substantiate the allegations.
“We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the vicinity of the court during the May,16 2025 Chicago Sky at Indiana Fever game.”
“Based on information gathered to date, including for relevant fans, team, and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated it.”
