The Indiana basketball team fell in Bloomington to Big Ten rival Michigan on Saturday, 70-67. Head coach Mike Woodson was booed as he walked onto the court for his first game since announcing a decision to step down at year’s end.
The Hoosiers wouldn’t give fans much reason to cheer as the game played out. The home team never led in the contest, falling behind by as many as 18 points early.
While they’d battle back after the halftime break to make the game competitive, they’d be unable to close out the come-from-behind victory.
Indiana cut the Wolverines‘ lead to just two points in the final minute of play. Michigan would seal the win at the free throw line, though, eventually building their advantage to six before the last possession.
As the old adage goes, “Good teams win. Great teams cover.” The Hoosiers would do just that!
The game line closed at -3.5 in favor of Michigan. A cover appeared safe with the Wolverines holding that six-point lead with two seconds left on the clock. Then, disaster.
Anthony Leal sank a three-pointer from half-court to make the score 70-67. Indiana disgustingly covered the basketball game in backdoor fashion causing the crowd to erupt.

It might’ve been the loudest the arena got after the pregame introductions. Mike Woodson was booed as he made his way onto the floor while the home crowd cheered Michigan’s Dusty May.
Not much has gone right for the Hoosiers over the last few weeks. They’ve lost seven of their last eight games. Their head coach is on his way out. They look destined to miss out on the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season.
At least fans had something to cheer about on Saturday, albeit in a loss.
