The Denver Nuggets won game four of their NBA playoffs series with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night by the slimmest margin that you will ever see. Denver picked up a 101-99 victory to even the series at 2-2, thanks to Aaron Gordon converting what had to be the closest buzzer-beater in league history.
Gordon rebounded an air-balled shot by Nuggets star Nikola Jokic and in one fell swoop, dunked the ball back through the rim as time expired. The basket was initially ruled good, but the referees then went to replay. The replay showed that Gordon appeared to release the ball almost simultaneously with the clock hitting 0.00.

Ultimately, the referees confirmed the basket to give the Nuggets the win. But fans couldn’t believe what they’d just seen, with many professing that it had to be the closest buzzer-beater in league history.
Gotta be the closest buzzer beater in basketball history lol

Nah you scrap that movie script because it’s implausibly, unrealistically close. https://t.co/lEeCC5MrZB

Gordon finished the game with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting. But all anyone is going to remember is the last two, which may live on forever in NBA history.
